A home occupation is a Conditional use approved through the City-Parish, subject to all the Section 9.4.5 conditions: appointment-only visits between 7am and 7pm, a resident occupying the home, no signage, dwelling-only appearance, a 22,500-square-foot lot, and not in a residential subdivision.

The City-Parish Unified Development Code is blunt about home occupation signs: no signage may be erected. Nothing may be done to make the building appear as anything other than a dwelling, so exterior business advertising for a home occupation is prohibited.
