E-Bike Classes
In unincorporated Nassau County, Class I, II and III electric bicycles are allowed on county sidewalks and county-maintained multi-path trails, but every rider on those surfaces is capped at 10 mph regardless of the bike's motor rating. The Electric Bicycle Restriction Ordinance exists specifically to protect walkers, joggers and regular cyclists from faster e-bike traffic sharing the same paths.
