Parkway Planting
Where Putnam County requires street trees, in the planting strip between the sidewalk and the street, Sec. 45-511(c)(5) of the Land Development Code says those trees must be canopy trees, species that mature to 40 feet or taller. If overhead or underground utilities conflict with a canopy tree, the developer substitutes two understory trees for each one.
