Irving, TX Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 25-2(a) requires each city park to post the hours it is open and closed to the public at the park's entrance, and it is unlawful to be present in a city park facility at any time outside those posted hours or to trespass on a facility once its designated operation hours end. There is no single citywide closing time; the rule is enforced against whatever hours each park has actually posted. Subsection (c) backs this up operationally: parks and recreation staff can close a facility or field at any time for maintenance, safety, or to protect a playing surface from damage, gated facilities are considered closed whenever their gates are not open, and non-gated facilities are marked closed with signage instead.

Violating the posted hours, or using a facility marked closed, is enforced under § 25-14, which makes any violation of the park chapter an offense punishable by a fine not to exceed $500 and expressly makes it a strict liability offense, meaning the city does not have to prove the person intended to violate the rule. The whole chapter was adopted by Ordinance 2022-10641 on September 15, 2022.
