Ramapo, NY Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Town Code § 195-13 sets the baseline access window for every Town park and facility as dawn to dusk, extendable only by posting on-site. Anyone who remains in a park or a park facility after dusk, or after whatever hours are posted for that location, is in violation of the section. The rule works alongside § 195-14G, which separately bars parking in park areas from dusk to dawn unless the Town has posted otherwise; a vehicle left overnight, parked for an extended period in an unauthorized spot, or blocking passage or play can be removed and impounded by the responsible park official or Town police, and towing and storage charges must be paid before release.

Enforcement of the parks chapter generally falls to the Police Department of the Town of Ramapo, other peace officers with jurisdiction, and any special personnel the Town Board authorizes under § 195-10B. The dawn-to-dusk limit applies Town-wide to parks operated by the Department of Parks and Recreation and is meant to keep facilities available for their intended daytime recreational use while curbing after-hours activity that the Department cannot supervise.
