Southampton, NY Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Town Code § 111-3C(1) bars parking between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. at any beach recreation facility, park recreation facility, park, trail or recreation center in the Town, with two named exceptions carrying later, harder cutoffs: the Red Creek Park Recreation Facility parking areas close from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. from May 1 through September 30 unless the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation permits otherwise for recreational programming, and the North Sea Community Park Recreation Facility and Southampton Town Recreation Center parking areas close from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. year-round on the same conditional basis.

A separate rule at § 111-2B(1) sets 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. as the closed period specifically for Town-owned historic burial grounds and abandoned cemeteries, which are treated apart from the general park-hours provision. Several other named facilities, including the Ponquogue Bridge Marine Park fishing piers, Shinnecock Commercial Fishing Dock and Conscience Point Marina Park, are instead subject to hours set by rules the Superintendent promulgates under § 111-2F(1) rather than a fixed clock time printed in the code. Enforcement personnel from the Department of Parks and Recreation, acting under the Superintendent's authority, administer these closures on the ground, and anyone using the facilities must obey their instructions.
