Jupiter, FL Drone Rules: Park Drone Restrictions (2026)

Sec. 14-84, added by Ordinance No. 12-25 on November 6, 2025, addresses aircraft of every kind on Jupiter's town-owned park property. It names the whole category by listing it out: aircraft, seaplane, helicopter, glider, balloon, dirigible, parachute, drone, or other remote-controlled apparatus, and it forbids the person operating, directing, or responsible for any of them from taking off or landing within park property. Because the rule is written around takeoff and landing rather than overflight, a drone merely flying over a park at altitude sits outside this specific section, though other park rules on noise, wildlife disturbance, and posted-signage restrictions under Sec.

14-82(b) can still reach that conduct. The only exception the section allows is for emergency law enforcement or life-safety situations, meaning a police or fire department drone or helicopter responding to an active incident is exempt while a hobbyist launching a drone from a park bench, boat ramp, or beach access point is not. The rule sits in the same division of the parks and recreation chapter as the sunset curfew, the fireworks ban, and the alcohol and camping rules, all enforced the same way: Sec.

14-85 gives any law enforcement officer with jurisdiction, along with authorized parks and recreation department employees, authority to order a violator to leave park property, and disobeying a lawful order from either of them is itself a separate violation. Sec. 14-86 sets the penalty for breaking any rule in this division, including the aircraft ban, through the town's civil citation system authorized in chapter 8, rather than as a criminal misdemeanor.
