Arizona ARS Β§36-1606 preempts local fireworks bans during designated periods. Permissible consumer fireworks (ground-based) may be used April 25 through May 6, May 20 through July 6, and December 10 through January 3. Use is prohibited between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM, with exceptions for midnight on July 4 and New Year's Eve (until 1:00 AM). Chandler prohibits consumer fireworks use on all public parks, retention basins, and public facilities. Paper sky lanterns are banned by the Chandler Fire Marshal as uncontrolled fire hazards. During Stage 1 or higher fire restrictions, fireworks are prohibited within one mile of preserves, parks, and forests. Illegal fireworks should be reported to Chandler Police non-emergency at 480-782-4130.
