The Commissioners Court can restrict or prohibit fireworks use in unincorporated areas when drought conditions exist or during a declared disaster. Consumer fireworks (Class C) are legal for purchase and use during approved periods (typically around July 4th, New Year's, and other designated holidays). Aerial display fireworks require a state permit from the State Fire Marshal. The county judge has authority to restrict fireworks use in a declaration of local disaster. Dallas County frequently issues fireworks restrictions during dry conditions.
