Section 93.30(B) requires anyone undertaking an activity listed in the operating permit fee schedule, sections 93.31 through 93.33, to obtain a permit from the Fire Marshal before starting, and bars continuing, expanding or modifying the operation without one; a permit tied to a building permit follows that permit's term, while other operating permits run 12 months. Section 93.31's fee schedule lists 'Liquefied Petroleum Gases: to store, use, handle, or dispense LP-Gas of 125 gallons (water capacity) aggregate capacity or greater' at a $50 fee, so any household or business reaching that 125-gallon aggregate threshold, whether in one tank or several, needs the Fire Marshal's permit before adding to or using that storage.

Section 93.35 backs the fee schedule with interest of 1.5% per month (18% per year, minimum $2 per bill) on unpaid fees and lets the Fire Marshal write infractions for operating without a town permit. Section 93.99(D) penalizes commencing any work subject to the section 93.31, 93.32 or 93.33 permit requirements without first obtaining the permit: the violator must pay a penalty equal to the permit fee itself, on top of the required fee, though emergency repair work is excused if a permit is sought promptly afterward.
