Ogden, UT Fire Regulations: Wildfire Zones (2026)

Under Ogden City Code section 11-6-3, hazardous areas include mountainous, brush-covered, forest-covered or dry grass-covered land such as the Ogden and Weber River Parkway corridor, Fort Buenaventura, the city baseball park and dog park off A Avenue, the old landfill near 2550 A Avenue, land within 200 feet of waterways, trails, canyons, washes or ravines, and wildland urban interface areas where development meets undeveloped wildland, specifically all areas east of Harrison Boulevard from the north to south city boundary. When the fire marshal determines hazardous environmental conditions exist, the marshal issues a written notice naming the location, the restriction level and how long it will last, includes a map exhibit, files it with the city recorder for public notice under Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 30, and sends copies to the city council and the business license coordinator, who must relay it to every licensed fireworks seller for posting where fireworks are displayed.

Three levels govern conduct: Yellow bars aerial fireworks and any ignition source outside a landscaped, attended, extinguisher-equipped area; Orange adds a ban on all open flames, including wood-burning fire pits and outdoor fireplaces, and on all fireworks; Red bars every ignition source outright, with no exceptions.
