Ogden, UT Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Sidewalk & Mobile Vending (2026)

Ogden City Code § 5-13B-1 defines a "sidewalk vendor" as anyone licensed to sell food, nonalcoholic beverages, balloons, cut flowers, caps, T-shirts, souvenirs or handmade crafts from a cart on a public sidewalk. Section 5-13B-2 makes it unlawful to display or sell retail goods on a public sidewalk without first obtaining that license. Under § 5-13B-3, the vendor pays the standard Title 5 license fee plus a $200 damage deposit the city can draw on for cleanup or repair after notice and a chance to fix the problem; the balance returns within 30 days of the license year's end.

Section 5-13B-4 requires commercial general liability insurance of at least $500,000 per person and $2,000,000 per occurrence, naming the city as an additional insured with 30 days' cancellation notice. Applications under § 5-13B-5 go to the planning division, county health department, fire prevention, police and inspection services for review before the mayor or designee approves. 5 feet high under § 5-13B-7(A). A vendor cart operated in violation is declared a public nuisance under § 5-13B-9 and can be impounded by police.
