Ogden, UT Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Ogden City Code § 5-13B-6(B) ties every sidewalk vendor license to one specific, city-approved location; operating anywhere else is not allowed. Vending is limited to approved sites within the downtown commercial zones C-MU, C-ENT, H25 and C-9, plus the neighborhood commercial/mixed use district at 25th Street and Monroe Avenue, mapped on the city's "approved street vendor locations" map kept by the city recorder. The council capped the citywide total at 23 approved locations, including a maximum of 12 food vendors, stating the limits and locations are meant to bring foot traffic downtown without obstructing pedestrian or vehicle traffic or interfering with sidewalk structures.

Each licensed cart is assigned to one location for up to three license years, with the mayor adopting the rules for the assignment process, and a cart that does not operate for 90 days or more can be reassigned to another vendor by the business license division. Section 5-13B-6(G) lets the city temporarily suspend a vendor's operation on 48 hours' notice for anticipated heavy traffic events like parades, or without notice for unanticipated emergencies, with reinstatement only after an authorized city officer lifts the suspension.
