Vending in residential districts may be restricted or prohibited. Food trucks must not obstruct traffic, sidewalks, or fire lanes. Special events in unincorporated areas may require additional permits for food vendor operations. The Department of Building and Zoning enforces zoning compliance. Food trucks must also comply with Cook County Department of Public Health requirements regardless of location. Parking and setback requirements apply to stationary food truck operations.
