Section 199-10D, part of the Peddler and Solicitor Law's restrictions on every licensed peddler or solicitor, bars vending goods, wares or merchandise within 250 feet of any other peddler, solicitor or private business selling similar goods, wares or merchandise, spacing out competing mobile sellers across unincorporated Ramapo. on school days, the hours schools are normally in session. The same restrictions list bars stopping or leaving a vending vehicle on a crosswalk (§ 199-10F) and bars using a noisy device to attract customers, except that ice cream vendors are specifically allowed to use a bell (§ 199-10G), an exception written into the code because bell-ringing ice cream trucks were an established practice the Town chose not to disturb.
