Home businesses are permitted as Home Occupations under §158-104. Use must remain residential - no outdoor storage, limited customer traffic, and at most one non-resident employee.
Under §158-104, a home occupation is allowed as an accessory use in single-family and most multifamily zones. The business must be conducted by residents, occupy less than 25% of the dwelling floor area, and have no exterior evidence of the business other than a small permitted sign where allowed. No more than one non-resident employee may work on site. Customer traffic is generally prohibited except by appointment at reasonable intervals. Deliveries must be limited to standard residential parcel service. Any activity that produces noise, odor, vibration, or glare beyond normal residential use is not a permitted home occupation.
Zoning violations under Ch. 158 can result in fines and an order to cease the business operation.
