Redondo Beach treats its bicycle paths as through-routes that must stay clear. 08 makes it unlawful to use or leave standing on any designated bicycle path "lounging equipment, athletic equipment, beach paraphernalia, article of clothing, or picnic equipment, including food containers," language written with the Esplanade beach path in mind, where towels, coolers, and folding chairs are a chronic complaint. 07 layers on a device ban: no skateboard, roller skates, wheeled toy, or device may be used or left on a bike path at all, a flatter prohibition than the sidewalk rules that require posted signage first.
