Jupiter, FL Mobility & Curb Rules: E-Bike Classes (2026)

Section 14-75, adopted by Ordinance No. 12-25 in November 2025, regulates vehicles of every kind within town park property. Subsection (g) specifically addresses smaller, rider-operated vehicles: it bars any person from riding, driving or propelling a bicycle, electric bicycle, motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle, scooter, minibike, golf cart or similar vehicle in any area of a park except the regular roads designed for vehicular traffic. The same subsection requires that riders of those vehicles comply with every applicable vehicle law and regulation while on park property, and it exempts town employees conducting town business from the restriction.

The town code does not create separate Class 1, 2 or 3 e-bike categories for park use the way Florida's state bicycle law does; § 14-75(g) instead treats an 'electric bicycle' as one item on a single list of vehicles confined to paved park roads, alongside conventional bicycles, motorcycles, ATVs and golf carts. Subsection (h) of the same section adds an equipment requirement relevant to any gasoline-powered vehicle on that list: a vehicle using gasoline or another explosive mixture as its power source must at all times use an adequate muffler, noise arrestor or sound-deadening device while on park property.

Because § 14-75(a) makes all applicable state and local vehicle laws enforceable within park property, and subsection (b) directs law enforcement officers to enforce motor vehicle, traffic and parking laws inside parks, an e-bike rider who leaves the designated paved roads faces enforcement both under the town's own park regulation and under any applicable state traffic law.
