Lake Havasu City, AZ Noise Ordinances: Construction Hours (2026)

Section 9.30.070 covers construction-related equipment operation, outside construction and repair work, and running pile drivers, power shovels, pneumatic hammers, derricks and power hoists; it exempts stereo or boom-box use and arbitrary yelling. Concrete may be poured, and mixing trucks idled, between 4:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. from May 1 through October 15, and between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. from October 16 through April 30, with concrete work in manufacturing or industrial zones exempt from the chapter entirely. All other construction work in, or within 500 feet of, a residential zone may run from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in summer (May 1-October 15) and from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in winter (October 16-April 30).

Construction more than 500 feet from a residential zone, in commercial or industrial zones, may run 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. year-round. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays the window tightens to 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. for construction work and 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. for concrete pouring. Outside those hours, the Development Services Department may issue a permit; in weighing it, the director considers neighborhood population and activity levels, traffic impacts, the noise level of the work, whether the area is primarily residential, economic hardship of spreading the work out, hazard abatement, and public interest.

The director may revoke a permit on substantial evidence of significant disturbance, an aggrieved applicant may appeal to the city manager, who must decide within 30 days, and the Development Services Department may issue a Red Tag stop-work order for violations.
