Mesa restricts construction noise near residential zones under Title 6, Chapter 12. It is unlawful to operate construction equipment or perform outside construction work within 500 feet of a residential zone during restricted nighttime hours.
Under Mesa's noise ordinance, construction work including operating pile drivers, power shovels, pneumatic hammers, derricks, power hoists, and similar equipment is restricted near residential areas. No person may operate construction, demolition, or excavation equipment or perform outside construction or repair work within a residential zone or within 500 feet of one during nighttime restricted hours. Seasonal adjustments may apply. The ordinance is enforced by Mesa Police and Code Compliance.
Construction noise violations carry the same mandatory minimum fines as general noise violations: $250 for a first offense, $500 for a second, and $2,500 for a third offense.
