Quiet hours in Eastvale, CA — also called the noise ordinance, nighttime noise rules, or residential quiet time — define the hours during which excessive noise is prohibited.
Eastvale Municipal Code Chapter 8.52 (Noise Regulation) sets exterior sound-level limits that drop at night. For residential property the cap falls from 55 dB Lmax during the day (7 a.m.-10 p.m.) to 45 dB Lmax at night (10 p.m.-7 a.m.). Several activity-specific bans run 10 p.m.-8 a.m.
Eastvale has its own noise ordinance: Chapter 8.52 of the Eastvale Municipal Code (EMC), adopted by Ordinance No. 2011-04 shortly after the city's 2010 incorporation and amended through 2024. EMC 8.52.040 sets a table of maximum exterior sound levels (dB Lmax) keyed to the General Plan land-use designation of the affected property. For all residential designations the limit is 55 dB Lmax from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and 45 dB Lmax from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., measured anywhere on the occupied property receiving the noise. On top of that table, EMC 8.52.060 imposes specific nighttime curfews: motor-vehicle sound systems, power tools and equipment, and audio equipment may not be operated between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. if they are audible inside a neighbor's dwelling, and sound-amplifying equipment and live music are flatly prohibited 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. The ordinance is enforced by the chief of police and community development director (EMC 8.52.080), with help from the public health department. Residents are directed to report most noise through the My Eastvale app, and loud parties to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department at (951) 776-1099.
Under EMC 8.52.100, one or two violations within a 180-day period are an infraction; more than two within 180 days is a misdemeanor. Each day a violation continues is a separate offense. Minimum mandatory fines are $500 for the first violation, $750 for the second, and $1,000 (or up to six months in county jail, or both) for further violations within 180 days.
