LA County Code Section 15.64.052 prohibits parking commercial vehicles with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or more on any highway or alley in residential districts at any time. This applies to all unincorporated residential and agricultural zones.
Section 15.64.052 restricts commercial vehicle parking in residential districts of unincorporated LA County. A commercial vehicle with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,000 pounds or more cannot park on any highway or alley in a residential district at any time. 'Residential district' includes any residential zone or agricultural A-1 zone as defined in Title 22. Section 15.64.055 further restricts parking of recreational vehicles and commercial vehicles in front yards of residential properties. Exemptions exist for active loading/unloading (typically 30 minutes or less) and emergency service vehicles. Commercial vehicles may park on commercial or industrial zone streets unless otherwise posted.
Violation of Section 15.64.052 carries a civil penalty citation. Fines range from $50 to $250 depending on the offense. Repeated violations may result in vehicle towing at the owner's expense.
