22 makes it unlawful to stand or park any commercial vehicle with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,000 pounds or more at any time within a residential district, once the City has posted authorized signs giving notice of the restriction. The section defines GVWR by reference to California Vehicle Code Section 350(a) and defines 'residential district' as any area zoned R-A, R-L, R-M, or R-H under Chapter 30 of the Compton Municipal Code. Six exceptions apply: emergency vehicles; trucks owned or operated by the City, public utilities, or waste removal companies and contractors actively repairing or building streets, street improvements, or street utilities; recreational vehicles parked by their owner on property the owner also owns, provided the vehicle is operational and not a nuisance; commercial vehicles or trailers making pickups or deliveries to a building on the restricted street; vehicles delivering materials for bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling, or construction under an existing building permit; and vehicles parking overnight at locations and times the City Council designates and the Street Superintendent posts, provided they display illuminated clearance lights or safety reflectors.

19, bars the same 10,000-pound-plus commercial vehicles from standing on any posted City street citywide regardless of zoning, using the identical exception list.
