City Code § 12-2-8 bans operating or parking a commercial vehicle, defined per A.R.S. § 28-5201, on a residential street, except when necessary to load, unload, deliver, pick up, or make a service call to a residence, and even then the truck must take the most direct route to an arterial or main street. On any street, commercial vehicles cannot park overnight between 10:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., and air-braking or refrigeration units cannot run more than thirty minutes near occupied buildings. Violations are civil traffic sanctions scaling with excess weight, from $50 up to $1,800, with heavier overages charged as a class 1 misdemeanor.
