O'Fallon, MO Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

110(A) lists five categories of vehicle banned from residential streets, highways or roadways: any vehicle with a DOT classification of Class 3 or above (excluding pickup trucks and SUVs), motor homes or campers beyond a 48-hour setup grace period per 30 days, any step van, any vehicle with a shell extending beyond the truck bed's length or width, and any commercial or industrial trailer, tractor or equipment. Subsection (B) extends the ban to private or public parking lots in residential areas absent the property owner's written permission, and Subsection (C) specifically forbids parking a commercial or industrial tractor or semi-tractor, attached or not, in a residential driveway.

Subsection (D) carves out three exceptions: moving vans or direct-service vehicles (capped at 24 hours per seven-day period and subject to posted restrictions), emergency vehicles actively responding to a call, and City-owned vehicles on site for business purposes. The ordinance traces to Ord. No. 598 in 1977 and was amended as recently as Ord. No. 5709 in 2011, which added the DOT classification standard via an appendix illustrating vehicle classes one through eight. 115, separately bars the same categories of vehicle from parking or storage in commercially or industrially zoned areas unless actively engaged in business there.
