Palm Beach Gardens, FL Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Sec. 78-393 of the Palm Beach Gardens Code of Ordinances states flatly that all commercial vehicles are prohibited from being parked or stored in a residential district unless one of the exceptions in Subdivision IV applies; the rule and its exceptions trace to Ord. No. 17-2000, adopted July 20, 2000. Sec. 78-394 lists the exceptions: a restricted vehicle may sit temporarily at a site with a currently valid building permit but must leave when construction finishes or the permit expires; a vehicle may be used as an approved sales office or a security facility on a development site; vehicles making deliveries or service calls may remain only as long as reasonably necessary; a disabled vehicle must be removed within 24 hours of the disabling incident regardless of cause; a government-owned public safety vehicle is exempt; and a vehicle fully enclosed in a garage is exempt, as is a vehicle parked on the side or rear yard consistent with the buffering and screening standards of Sec.

78-395. Sec. 78-397 assigns enforcement to the Code Enforcement Division, which is authorized to remove noncompliant vehicles and watercraft under state law procedures rather than relying solely on notice-and-hearing before the special magistrate. Because the ordinance is written as a blanket prohibition with enumerated carve-outs rather than a general permit system, a resident who parks a box truck, dump truck, tractor-trailer cab or similarly classed commercial vehicle in a driveway or yard in a residential zoning district is in violation unless the vehicle fits squarely within one of the six listed exceptions.
