San Angelo prohibits parking trucks and truck-trailers in the downtown business district (Sec. 10.04.003). A commercial vehicle is any vehicle used primarily to transport property, and large trucks and semi-trailers may not be stored in residential yards except on improved, screened surfaces.
San Angelo Code Sec. 10.04.003(d) makes it unlawful to park trucks and/or truck-trailers within the business district, defined as the area within 150 feet of business or industrial buildings. The traffic code defines a commercial vehicle as every vehicle designed, maintained, or used primarily for the transportation of property (Sec. 10.01.001). In residential districts, trucks, semi-trailers, and trailers count as vehicles under Article 8.10 and may only be parked on an improved surface or behind a six-foot opaque fence (Sec. 8.10.002). Loading and unloading are permitted temporarily. HOA and deed restrictions frequently impose tighter limits on work trucks and trailers.
Parking a truck or trailer in the business district is a traffic offense fined $1 to $200 per Sec. 1.01.009(c). Residential unimproved-surface storage is a nuisance subject to abatement and fines.
