Vallejo, CA Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

VMC Section 8.24.010(Q) prohibits parking a house car, bus, camp trailer, mobile home, motor truck having a manufacturer's rated capacity in excess of three-quarters ton, school bus, semitrailer, trailer, trailer coach, or truck tractor, attached or unattached, on any street, alley, or parkway inside a residence district, as that district is defined by Vehicle Code Section 515. The only exception is a vehicle actively engaged in delivering or receiving appliances, equipment, furniture, household goods, materials, merchandise, passengers, or supplies at an adjacent commercial establishment, loading area, lot, office building, or residence, and only for as long as that loading or unloading is actually happening.

Subsection (T) goes further and applies citywide, not just to residential streets: it bars parking a car, bus, camp trailer, mobile home, school bus, semitrailer, trailer, trailer coach, or truck tractor, or any motor truck with a gross vehicle weight of ten thousand pounds or more, on any public street or alley during all hours of the day. The exception mirrors subsection (Q): a commercial vehicle may stop while actively delivering or receiving goods at an adjacent property, or while parked to perform a service on a property in the same block, but only for the time reasonably needed to complete that delivery or service, and only where signs or markings give notice of the exception.

Both subsections sit inside the broader Section 8.24.010 list of stopping, standing, and parking prohibitions, and a violation is enforced through the same Chapter 8.12 civil-penalty structure: a fine on the city's parking fine schedule under Section 8.12.050, with a separate late-payment penalty under Section 8.12.060 if the citation goes unpaid.
