Vehicles parked in Henderson driveways must be operable, currently registered, and not block the sidewalk under HMC Title 10. Parking on landscaping or front yards is prohibited. HOAs often add stricter limits.
Henderson Municipal Code Title 10 (Vehicles and Traffic) requires vehicles stored or parked outside a garage to be on a paved, approved driveway surface (concrete, asphalt, or paver). Parking on front-yard landscaping, desert rock, gravel, or turf is prohibited and a common code enforcement complaint. All driveway-parked vehicles must be currently registered with valid Nevada plates and in operable condition; vehicles with expired tags over 60 days, flat tires, missing glass, or major mechanical disassembly are deemed inoperable and subject to abatement. Vehicles must not overhang the public sidewalk or block pedestrian passage. Commercial vehicles over 10,000 pounds GVWR face additional restrictions (see commercial-vehicles). Master-planned communities (Anthem, Inspirada, Green Valley, MacDonald Ranch, Sun City Anthem) routinely have stricter HOA rules limiting driveway parking to 2 vehicles, banning overnight visible storage, and prohibiting RVs, boats, and trailers on driveways entirely. Check HOA CCRs before relying solely on city rules.
Parking on landscaping: citation and 100 dollars and up. Inoperable vehicle: notice to remove within 72 hours, then city tow. Blocking sidewalk: citation and possible tow.
