Under NRS 487.230 and HMC Title 10, a vehicle left on a Henderson public street more than 72 hours is presumed abandoned. Inoperable or unregistered vehicles visible on private property are also prohibited.
Nevada Revised Statutes 487.230 authorizes law enforcement to remove vehicles left unattended on any public highway or public property for 72 hours or more. Henderson Police Department Parking Enforcement tags suspected abandoned vehicles with a notice; the owner has 72 hours to move the vehicle or it is towed at owner expense. Henderson Municipal Code Title 10 also prohibits parking the same vehicle at one location on a public street for more than 72 hours. Inoperable, wrecked, dismantled, or unregistered vehicles stored on private property must be kept inside an enclosed structure or out of public view; otherwise they are treated as junk vehicles under HMC Title 8 (Property Maintenance). HOAs in Green Valley, Inspirada, and Anthem typically impose even shorter limits (often 24 to 48 hours for street parking).
Abandoned vehicle on street: towing at owner expense plus storage fees and citation. Junk vehicle on private property: citation, daily fines, and abatement under HMC property maintenance.
