Under DMC Article 22.09, yellow curbs marked 'LOADING ONLY' are commercial loading zones and white curbs marked 'PASSENGER LOADING ONLY' are passenger zones. Only active loading or unloading is allowed, for the time limits set in DMC 22.09.020.
Article 22.09 of the Davis Municipal Code governs loading zones. Commercial loading zones are marked by a yellow paint line stenciled in black letters 'LOADING ONLY' on top of the curb, while passenger loading zones are marked by a white line stenciled 'PASSENGER LOADING ONLY.' No vehicle may stop, stand or park in a yellow loading zone for any purpose other than loading or unloading passengers or materials, and no vehicle may use a passenger loading zone for anything other than loading or unloading passengers, each only for the time permitted in Section 22.09.020. The city traffic engineer designates and marks these zones, generally in the central traffic district or business districts.
Parking in a yellow or white loading zone for any non-loading purpose, or exceeding the permitted loading time, is a citable violation enforced by Davis police.
