Baytown does not impose a blanket overnight street parking ban. Vehicles may generally remain on residential streets overnight unless posted otherwise, but must be currently registered, operable, and comply with all other parking restrictions under the Code of Ordinances.
The City of Baytown does not have a citywide overnight parking ban on residential streets. Vehicles may park overnight on public streets provided they are currently registered, display valid plates, and are in operable condition. Vehicles parked on streets must comply with all posted restrictions and may not block driveways, fire hydrants, or fire lanes. Inoperable or unregistered vehicles on public streets are subject to the city's abandoned vehicle ordinance and may be tagged and towed after notice. Certain areas near petrochemical facilities or in flood-prone zones may have additional restrictions posted. Recreational vehicles and trailers parked on streets may be subject to time limitations. The Baytown Police Department handles overnight parking enforcement.
While overnight parking itself is generally permitted, vehicles that are inoperable, unregistered, or in violation of posted restrictions may be tagged and towed. Owners receive notice before towing except in cases of immediate safety hazards.
