Bossier City, LA Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Two sections work together to keep recreational and utility vehicles off residential property in Bossier City. Section 110-113 bars parking or leaving standing on any residentially zoned street, or portion of one, a trailer of any kind: utility trailers, equipment trailers, house or travel trailers, or boat trailers, though a trailer may briefly stop there to make a pickup or delivery to a building in the district. A violation of Sec. 110-113 is fined not less than $500.00 for each offense, with no cap stated.

Section 110-114, adopted by Ordinance No. 45-2014 on June 3, 2014, separately targets where a vehicle used for recreational purposes, including campers, RVs, boats, ATVs or utility trailers, may sit on the property itself: it cannot be parked or stored on the front yard, lawn, or the side-street yard of a corner lot, and any such vehicle kept in front of a residence must instead be in a legal garage or carport, or on a paved driveway or surface. Subsection (b) separately bans obstructing the sidewalk with a recreational vehicle at any time and requires that these vehicles stay off the public right-of-way.

Sec. 110-114's penalty is a fine of not less than $250.00 for each offense, and because subsection (c) makes each day of a continuing violation a separate offense, an owner who leaves a boat on the lawn for a week faces multiplying fines rather than a single flat charge.
