Bossier City, LA Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 110-75 folds several on-street parking bans into a single rule enforced by Bossier City Police. Beyond the general "illegal parking" already defined in Louisiana's Highway Regulatory Act, subsection (a) separately bars parking a vehicle in a truck unloading zone the police chief has designated and posted, unless the vehicle itself is unloading; in a fire lane the fire chief or state fire marshal has designated; within 15 feet of a fire hydrant; within 20 feet of an intersection; or in a way that blocks a driveway that is not the parker's own.

The rule reaches the "vehicle registered in his name or operated by him," so both the registered owner and whoever is driving can be held responsible. Subsection (b) sets the fine at $50.00, but that amount doubles to $100.00 if the fine goes unpaid within ten days of the citation date, giving drivers a built-in grace period before the penalty escalates. The same fine schedule also reaches the state-law parking offenses adopted by reference in Sec. 110-71, so a citation under either section carries the same $50.00-to-$100.00 exposure.

A near-identical fire-lane, hydrant and driveway rule reappears at Sec. 110-111 in Article IV, though that section's fine is a much smaller $5.00 rising to $10.00, so which section a violation falls under can matter for the amount owed.
