Casper, WY Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Section 10.36.020 of the Casper Municipal Code treats recreational vehicles, which Section 10.36.030 defines to include travel trailers, pickup campers, motor homes, camping trailers, and any boat or trailer other than an enclosed commercial trailer under twenty feet, as a distinct category of street parking. Subsection A(26) requires that any RV parked on a public street sit directly in front of the owner's or renter's own lot or property, and makes parking in any other location on a public street unlawful outright. Subsection C adds a time limit: no recreational vehicle may be parked on any city street for more than five days in any thirty-day period unless the owner has complied with the additional provisions of the city's current Parking Manual, adopted by council resolution and covering permits, fees and exceptions.

Subsection F protects sight lines at intersections by making it unlawful to park any RV or vehicle within thirty feet of the back of the sidewalk, or of the right-of-way line where no sidewalk exists, at any corner formed by intersecting streets. These RV-specific rules sit inside the same section that requires every parked vehicle to be currently registered and licensed under Section 10.36.020(E). A violation of any of these RV parking limits is a misdemeanor under Section 10.36.050, each day it continues is a separate offense, and the city may tow or impound the RV once three or more citations tied to it are more than thirty days past due.
