Sec. 8-26(c)(1) of the Greenwood General Ordinances bars keeping a recreational vehicle, camper or travel trailer on a residentially zoned lot unless it fits specific placement rules: stored inside an accessory building or garage, kept on an approved surface behind or at the building line if 32 feet or less in length and 8 feet or less in width, or placed in front of the building line only if 18 feet or less in length. A unit longer than 18 feet but no more than 32 feet can sit in front of the building line for only 24 hours.

Sec. 8-26(c)(2) limits a residential lot to one recreational vehicle, camper or travel trailer in the open at a time, and Sec. 8-26(c)(7) bans any unit over 32 feet long or 8 feet wide outright on residential land. Sec. 8-26(c)(5) allows overnight guest use for sleeping for up to 15 days per lot per calendar year, but Sec. 8-26(c)(8) forbids using the unit as an office except at a construction site or sales lot. Sec. 8-26(d) applies parallel rules to boats, boat trailers and pop-up campers: none over 32 feet long or 8 feet wide is allowed on a residential lot, none over 18 feet or 8 feet wide can sit for more than 24 hours in front of the building line, and only one per lot is permitted. Sec. 8-26(a)(3) requires all of these units to sit on a hard, uniform surface, never on grass or plant material.
