Full Breakdown
Riverside County Code § 10.20.170 bans parking any recreational vehicle, motor home, travel trailer, camper, boat, snowmobile, off-road vehicle or utility trailer, on a county highway within a residential district in the unincorporated area. Owners get two 48-hour windows per month directly in front of their own home for loading, unloading or cleaning, or when hosting a permitted guest. Elsewhere, signed streets cap RV parking at two hours. County code enforcement cites violations, but only where signage is posted. The section governs the street only; it does not restrict RVs parked in private driveways or yards, and it applies only in unincorporated areas, not inside the 28 incorporated cities such as Riverside, Temecula, Murrieta or Palm Springs, each of which sets its own rule.
Violations & Fines
Violating the parking or signage restrictions of Chapter 10.20 is an infraction under Riverside County Code § 10.20.180, punishable by a fine set under the California Vehicle Code; each day of violation is a separate offense.
