The City of Maricopa (Pinal County) regulates recreational vehicles under Zoning Code 18.120.150. In residential districts, an RV may be parked in a driveway, side yard, or rear yard for loading/unloading or maintenance for no more than 24 hours before or after a trip, and otherwise must sit at least 10 feet from the rear property line and be screened from street view.
Maricopa Municipal Code 18.120.150 (Manufactured home/recreational vehicle uses) governs how RVs, travel trailers, and park-model trailers may be kept on residential property. A single recreational vehicle may be parked or stored in a driveway, exterior or interior side yard, or rear yard for the purpose of loading, unloading, repairs, or maintenance for a period not to exceed 24 hours before or after a trip. For longer-term storage, the RV must be kept at least 10 feet from the rear property line and screened so it is not visible from the street, or stored inside an enclosed accessory building or garage. On public streets, MCC 18.120.150 permits temporary parking of an RV in a residential area for loading, unloading, or cleaning for up to 48 hours, provided it does not create a traffic hazard or obstruct visibility. Citywide, the general 72-hour public-street parking limit in MCC 10.20.040 still applies, and oversized RVs may also trigger the oversized-vehicle restriction in MCC 10.20.070. Boats and boat trailers fall under the same recreational-vehicle and nonmotorized-vehicle storage rules.
Violations are enforced by the City of Maricopa Code Enforcement (Development Services). RVs parked on a public street beyond 72 consecutive hours are subject to removal and storage at the owner's expense and a fine under MCC 10.20.040; screening and storage violations are zoning-code violations subject to abatement.
