2(a) bars parking or storing a recreational vehicle, boat, personal watercraft, or a trailer for any of those items, in the front yard of a residential lot or on a public street or right-of-way, unless it sits inside a garage, carport, or accessory building. Subsection (b) allows side-yard storage but caps the height at six feet above the ground, though masts, antennas, vent stacks and windshields are allowed to exceed that limit. Subsection (c) permits rear-yard storage only if the unit sits at least five feet from the rear or side lot line.

Subsection (d) exempts a unit actively engaged in loading or unloading from the front-yard and side-yard rules in subsections (a) and (b). The section supplies its own broad definition of 'recreational vehicle' in subsection (g): every vehicular-type unit designed or used as temporary living or sleeping quarters for recreational, camping, travel or seasonal use, that either has its own motive power or is mounted on, or is towed by, another vehicle, expressly including travel trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, camping trailers and motor homes. ' Enforcement falls to any designated special police officer, the fire marshal or his assistants, or any law enforcement officer under subsection (f). The provision was adopted by Ordinance No. 40,340 on June 5, 2001, and amended by Ordinance No. 40,938 on January 28, 2003.
