C. Recreational vehicles, recreational equipment and utility trailers must be located 3 feet or more behind the front building line of the main residential structure on the parcel. This requirement applies on both lot frontages of a corner parcel.

The equipment can't have fixed electric, gas, water or sewer hookups, and it can never be used for living or housekeeping purposes. It also can't sit in storage longer than a year without a current Ohio license. Toledo does allow one practical exception: an RV, trailer, or piece of recreational equipment may pull into the driveway for loading and unloading for up to 24 hours in any calendar week, notwithstanding the setback rules. 1802(H) says this Zoning section controls.

Storing an RV, boat or trailer in the side setback, closer than 3 feet to the front building line, or hooked up to utilities is a Zoning Code violation under §§ 1115.0201-.0211, with fines of $75 to $600 escalating by offense and each day of noncompliance a separate violation. Using the equipment for living quarters, or storing it over a year without a current Ohio license, carries the same penalty.
