Broomfield, CO Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 10-04-050 adopts the 2024 Model Traffic Code for Colorado Municipalities by reference, and 10-04-060 lists Broomfield's local amendments to it. Amendment (F) rewrites MTC Section 1210, retitled Parking for certain purposes prohibited, to bar parking a vehicle on a highway for the principal purpose of displaying it for sale, greasing, painting, or repairing it except for emergency repairs, or displaying advertising. Amendment (I) tightens MTC Section 1204(2), which already restricts stopping, standing, or parking near crosswalks and intersections, by rewriting subsection (c) to set a flat thirty-foot no-parking buffer from either a crosswalk or an intersection, closing what had been a narrower or differently worded state-model buffer.

These amendments apply on every street, alley, sidewalk area, driveway, park, and public parking area within Broomfield's jurisdiction per 10-04-030. Section 10-04-070 makes each event of noncompliance with the chapter or the amended Model Traffic Code its own separate infraction or offense, and enforcement runs through the Broomfield Police Department applying the adopted Model Traffic Code alongside these local amendments. The city's traffic engineer and police officers rely on these sections daily for routine curbside enforcement near intersections, school zones, and commercial strips where vehicles are commonly left for sale or informal repair work.
