Tucson, AZ Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Article VII of Chapter 20 governs on-street parking citywide. Section 20-277 lists places where stopping, standing, or parking is flatly unlawful except to avoid a traffic conflict or comply with a police officer or signal: on a sidewalk, in front of a public or private driveway, on a crosswalk, within twenty feet of a crosswalk at an intersection's departing side, in red zones, where signs are posted, within five feet of a driveway, and within ten feet of an alleyway. Section 20-279 separately governs how a vehicle must sit once parked: on streets with adjacent curbs where parallel parking is authorized, the curbside wheels must be within eighteen inches of the right-hand curb (or the left-hand curb on one-way streets), and the vehicle must face the same direction as the nearest travel lane, the rule that bans "wrong-way" curbside parking.

Section 20-200 classifies any violation of the article's time, place, or method rules as a civil infraction, with both the registered owner and whoever parked the vehicle jointly and individually liable. 00 Case Processing Fee, and authorizes booting or impounding the vehicle.
