Full Breakdown

Sec. 16-6(a) of the Davie Code makes it unlawful to consume or carry an open or uncovered container of alcohol in any public park or recreational area, or on any public street, sidewalk, trail, alley or other town-owned property. The ban doesn't apply to state-licensed premises permitted for on-site consumption or to privately owned property outside the public right-of-way. The town council may grant a temporary exception of up to 14 days for an organized event based on its purpose, timing, security plan and proximity to residential areas, and the ban also doesn't apply to town-sanctioned events held with the town administration's knowledge and consent.
