Summary

Maricopa bars drinking alcohol in city parks without a permit, on public rights-of-way outside a licensed dining or event area, and on private property visible to the public without the owner's consent.

B. Serve, possess or consume any alcoholic beverage, except malt liquor and wine, within a park, except in areas designated and permitted by the city of Maricopa, or as otherwise allowed by acquiring a use permit; C. Consume any alcoholic beverage in or upon any public right-of-way except for customers in or upon a dining area permitted for the consumption of alcohol and attendees of events permitted for the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

City Code § 12.15.010 makes it unlawful to serve, possess or consume alcohol in a park except in a permitted area, to drink on any public right-of-way except as a customer at a permitted dining area or event, or to drink on private property open to public view without the owner's consent. Park drinking without a permit is fined $100 under § 12.40.040. Officers may also demand ID to verify age near alcohol under § 12.15.010(G). Pinal County Sheriff's deputies and city officials enforce it under § 12.40.010.
