Menifee, CA Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

090 makes it unlawful to operate a skateboard, bicycle or similar propelled device in willful or wanton disregard for safety in any park, playground, trail or open space under the City Manager/Community Services Department. Elsewhere in a park, such devices must be carried, pushed or dismounted while moving between areas, and none may be ridden on public tennis courts except in a place specifically authorized, where safety gear such as a helmet, wrist guards and elbow pads is required. 100 layers on ten rules for any facility the city designates by resolution as a skateboarding area: riding is limited to posted hours of operation set by the City Manager; the area may be used only for skateboarding, in-line skating, hard-wheel scooters and bicycles; helmets, elbow pads and knee pads are mandatory and must be functional and properly sized; anyone under 12 must be supervised by an adult; skating and biking get separate session times while skateboarding, in-line skating and hard-wheel scooters may share a session; alcohol and drugs are banned in the area; trash must go in provided cans or the violator is removed; graffiti or tagging is prohibited; riding on the curbs, sidewalks, fences, railings or driveways surrounding the designated area is banned; and all users must follow posted park capacity rules. The chapter was adopted by Ordinance 2014-146 and the skateboarding-area section was amended by Ordinance 2019-266 on February 20, 2019.
