Full Breakdown

Irving's short-term rental ordinance establishes occupancy limits based on the number of bedrooms and available off-street parking spaces at the property. STRs must comply with building and housing standards including regulations on egress, occupancy, and amenities. Properties must meet fire safety codes for the number of guests accommodated. The STR registration application requires disclosure of the number of bedrooms and parking spaces, and these are used to calculate the maximum permitted occupancy. Exceeding occupancy limits is a violation that can lead to registration suspension or revocation. Report excessive occupancy at (972) 721-4829.
