Lawton, OK Short-Term Rentals: Occupancy Limits (2026)

Sec. 7-27-1-2704(A)(2) sets Lawton's core occupancy rule for hotels and short-term rentals: 'Only one party of guests are permitted per hotel or other short-term rental and anyone under the age of eighteen (18) is prohibited from renting the short-term rental.' The same section requires overnight stays to run at least 10 hours, banning hourly-rate rentals (Sec. 7-27-1-2704(A)(7)). For rentals in residentially zoned districts, the property must keep a residential appearance and cannot be used for commercial or social events (Sec. 7-27-1-2704(B)(1)-(2)). Sec. 7-27-1-2705 then requires the license holder to post the resulting occupancy limit, along with the license number, operator and local-contact names and numbers, and parking information, in a prominent, guest-visible spot inside the unit, and to hand guests a packet summarizing those restrictions. A licensee who does not live in Lawton must name a local contact able to reach the property within one hour of an emergency call (Sec. 7-27-1-2704(A)(4)-(5)).
