Lawton, OK Short-Term Rentals: Short-Term Rental Parking Rules (2026)

Sec. 7-27-1-2704(A)(3) states plainly that 'a licensee or guest of a hotel or other short-term rental shall not violate any parking ordinances of the Lawton City Code,' folding the city's general traffic and parking rules directly into short-term rental compliance. Beyond that general duty, Sec. 7-27-1-2705(5) requires the license holder to identify 'the location of any on-site and off-site parking spaces available for guests' and to post that information, and item 8 of the same section separately lists 'parking restrictions,' in a prominent, guest-visible location inside the rental, together with a written packet of the same restrictions.

The site plan submitted with the original license application must already show 'parking areas' and 'access to parking areas' under Sec. 7-27-1-2702(C), so parking layout is reviewed before a license is even issued. Because parking is also checked as part of the zoning-compliance investigation required for every new or renewal application (Sec. 7-27-1-2703), a rental whose actual parking use strays from its approved site plan risks the same compliance review that covers fire, building and health standards. This dual review, at application and again at license renewal, means parking non-compliance can surface before a rental ever opens for guests, not only after a neighbor complaint is filed.
