Blue Springs, MO Short-Term Rentals: Short-Term Rental Parking Rules (2026)

Section 605.230, added alongside the short-term rental registration chapter by Ordinance No. 5485 in March 2026, sets performance standards a registered short-term rental must meet, and Subsection (B) governs parking directly: one off-street parking space is required per bedroom, capped at a maximum of four spaces regardless of how many bedrooms the unit has, and no blocking of sidewalks, driveways or the public right-of-way is permitted at any time. This dovetails with the registration process in Section 605.220, which already requires the operator to submit a parking plan as part of the self-certification checklist before the City issues a registration number.

Section 605.230(H) then requires every online listing to disclose the registration number, the occupancy limit, parking instructions and quiet hours, so a guest booking a Blue Springs short-term rental should see the parking limits before arriving. Because Adams Dairy Parkway corridor rentals and lake-area properties near Blue Springs Lake and Fleming Park often draw larger groups with multiple vehicles, the four-space cap functions as a hard ceiling regardless of lot size or bedroom count above four. Violations of the parking standard are enforced through the same Section 605.240 schedule that covers the rest of Chapter 605's short-term rental standards: a written warning for a first violation, escalating fines for repeat violations within twelve months, and possible suspension or revocation of the registration for repeated or major noncompliance.
