Plano STRs must provide on-site parking disclosed at registration. Street parking is capped at 15 consecutive days, and RVs, trailers, and boats are banned on residential streets under Code 12-114.
The Plano STR registration program requires each property to identify the number of on-site parking spaces available to guests, and marketing must not advertise more guests than can be accommodated by that parking. Street parking in residential districts is subject to the general 15-day maximum (Plano Code Section 12-121) and the prohibition on RVs, motor homes, trailers, and boats parked on public streets in residential zones (Plano Code Section 12-114). Vehicles extending more than 95 inches from the curb face into the roadway in residential districts are also prohibited. Many Plano HOAs add stricter rules, including no overnight street parking and requiring all vehicles to fit in the driveway or garage. STR operators should post clear house rules to guests explaining where to park, because parking complaints generate many of the documented incidents logged against STR registrations and can contribute to enforcement action.
Parking citations up to 200 dollars per offense. Repeated parking incidents logged against STR registration and counted toward enforcement action.
